Objective : To analyze the cases of transudatory hydrothorax ( TH ) in order to improve its diagnostic rate .

Methods TNF - α and IL-6 in the ascitic fluid of 32 cirrhotic patients with SBP were measured by ELISA . The group was compared with the value in transudatory ascites of 30 cirrhotic patients .
